Description: Financial accounting is the language of business. Every day businesses and markets generate data that must be quickly and accurately captured and reported for use by decision-makers.The financial accounting course introduces the roles, concepts, legal requirements and impacts of financial reporting. We cover the basic financial statements and the analysis and recording of transactions, with a focus on interpretations of reported results. A group project/presentation at the end of the course provides students the opportunity to incorporate the skills gained during the course in analyzing public companies and to make investment/lending recommendations.
